A Program for Ethical Leaders
As leaders of the future, Marist students in the Business Administration concentration in Management receive a solid grounding in the principles and practices of management with opportunities to develop critical managerial skills while allowing flexibility to tailor coursework to specific areas of interest. In addition, there is the opportunity to incorporate a specific track in Human Resources Management or Leadership.
A robust curriculum...
Marist students receive a balanced educational experience with a combination of a liberal arts foundation, fundamental theory in their major, and practical experience in their future field. Along with core and major coursework, students will also study Management and Human Resources. Additionally, students can tailor their concentration by selecting two additional courses among ten, with the opportunity to add a Human Resource Management or Leadership track.
Our optional tracks allow students to dive deeper into topics in Human Resources Management or Leadership. Students can choose from a list of electives specific to each track to tailor their own experience, such as:
...with access to professional organizations.
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the leading voice of the human resource profession, representing the interests of more than 80,000 professional and student members from around the world. As a Marist student, you have exciting access to this important group.
The benefits of membership include networking opportunities with real-life HR professionals in the Hudson Valley, attending conferences to hear outstanding speakers, receiving cutting edge publications such as HR Magazine and HR news, and getting discounts to national and international conferences where over 6,000 professionals gather. SHRM also sponsors scholarships and awards and provides research assistance.
...and pair them with our top-notch business program.
“I transferred to Marist once I completed my first two years at Dutchess Community College (DCC) and wanted to continue to be a commuter student. I wanted to find a local school that had a great business administration program. Also, the campus was so pretty, I could actually see myself walking the campus and studying in the library while viewing those beautiful sunsets over the Hudson River.”
